There are three regions under the control of R.M.C.NAGPUR. The names of region wise observatories for which Met Data will be made available are as under:-

VIDARBHA REGION: Nagpur, Akola, Amraoti, Buldana, Bramhapuri, Chandrapur, Washim, Gondia, Wardha and Yavatmal. Sironcha observatory is temporarily defunct and likely to be shifted at Aheri in due course of time.

 

CHHATISGARH REGION: Raipu,r Mana, (A.P) Drug, Ambikapur, Pendra Road, Jagdalpur, Champa, Raigarh, Rajnandgaon, and Kanker observatory are temporarily defunct.

 

M.P.STATE:- Bhopal, Hoshangabad, Alirajpur, Betul, Chhindwara, Damoh, Datia, Dhar, Guna, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Khajuraho, Mandla, Malajkhand, Neemuch, Nowgaon, Narsingpur, Pachmari, Panna, Rajgarh, Ratlam, Rena, Raisen, Sidhi, Sagar, Seoni, Shivpuri, Sheopurkalan, Shajapur, Satna, Tikamgarh, Umaria, and Ujjain. Vidisha and Kannod observatory are temporarily defunct.

 

Types of Meteorological Data

·         Rainfall (Hourly*, Daily, Monthly, Annually)

·         Temperature (Hourly*, Daily, Monthly, Maximum & Minimum, Extreme Values etc)

·         Relative Humidity (Hourly*, Daily, Monthly)

·         Surface Wind speed and directions (Average speed for 24 hours*)

·         Bright Sunshine Hours (Hourly*)

·         Station Level / Mean Sea Level Pressure(Hourly*, Daily, Monthly)

·         Amount and types of clouds observed (Twice daily / 8 times daily*)

·         Various Weather phenomenon such as, visibility, occurrence of Thunderstorm etc

·         Climate Normals based on 1951-80 and 1961-90(in final stage of preparation) data.

·         Weather Reports on specific weather phenomenon such as heavy rainfall, storm etc

·         Wind rose diagrams for selected stations

Procedure to get the Data

Send the data request (see Enclosure I) with the following particulars:

  1. Type & Frequency of data - (e.g. Daily Temperature, Monthly Rainfall, Hourly RH, Normal Long-period average, Wind speed etc)
  2. Period of Requirement of data - (For example, Jan, 1985 to Dec, 2005; Only November, December and January data for the years 1995 and 1996; Recent 15 years Etc.)
  3. List of Stations - Stations for which data is required (see information-region wise list).

Once the above three factors are finalized, send your request by post /e-mail / in-person to the address as mentioned in Contact Details. On receiving your request, this office will process your request and a “Data Cost Intimation Letter” (DCIL), containing the availability of data, its cost and mode of payment etc will be sent to you. On receipt of DCIL by the applicant / party, the following documents are essentially being sent to this office in order to obtain the desire data.

1. Duly filled and signed Data Request Form (If it is not provided in the initial correspondences. (Enclosure I)

2. A Bank (DD) for the amount mentioned in DCIL. A DD should be drawn on STATE BANK OF INDIA, Treasury branch (code No 1904) Pune, in favour of “Pay and Account Officer IMD Pune”. Cash payment can also be made to the Cashier, RMC Nagpur during working days (Monday to Friday) except closed holidays between 1030 hrs IST to 1600 hrs IST. Money orders & Chaques / Bankers chaques will not be accepted.

3. Duly signed and sealed ‘Certificate of Undertaking'.(Enclosure II)

On receiving the above mentioned documents, this office will retrieve/compile the required data and the same will be sent as early as possible.

 

Terms and Conditions and Disclaimer

1)       Kindly read carefully paragraph “Procedure to obtain the Data” and then send your Data Requisition enclosing required documents. Make use of forms / certificate as provided in Enclosure I & II.

2)       Incomplete Data requisition will be rejected.

3)       Data cost charged in DCIL is as per the guidelines and instructions of the Head Quarter Office; Hence no argument will be heard on the matter.

4)       The amount paid against a data request is not refundable under any circumstances and hence before making any payment, users are requested to ensure themselves about the same.

5)       Representative  deputed buy the State / Central / govt agencies  / private parties for manual copying the data at this office have o pay overhead charges in addition to data cost as per rules of head Quarter. No T.A /D.A / Accomodation will be provided for this purpose by this office.

6)       Supply of data will be considered as per order of receipt of requisition from the parties and DDGM,RMC, Nagpur & ADGM(Research), Pune reserves the right to accept or decline any data request on public interest.

7)        The data supplied to an user is only meant for the purpose mentioned in their request letter and in no case the data be parted and handed over to any other user for any other purpose.

8)       Though maximum care is taken at various stages in collecting, scrutinizing and compiling the data, there could be some errors in the data due to instrumental and technical reasons.
